Nora Laureano
Nora is proudly from Houston, Texas and studies at the Nolan School of Hotel Administration. Her love of hospitality stems from her father, who fell in love and worked in the hospitality industry after first immigrating to the United States. She loves to share all of her hospitality experiences with her father, bond over their shared experiences, and receive advice from him. Upon graduating, Nora aspires to pursue a career in food and beverage management, specifically event management or restaurant/hospitality design and development.
Outside of HEC, Nora serves as the Co-President of Mosaic Hospitality Associations, where she previously served as the VP of programming. Since her freshman year, she has worked at the Statler Hotel in the Meetings and Events department, but she is excited to start her new role in the Sales department in the fall. Her summer after freshman year she interned at the Marriott Marquis in Houston as a food and beverage intern. After her sophomore year she interned at Hard Rock Stadium for Sodexo Live! as a suites intern for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In her freshman year she served as the conference services manager for the closing cocktail function. Her sophomore year she served as an assistant director for the food and beverage service team, where she oversaw the breakfast and closing cocktail service teams, and expedited at the plated dinner. To Nora, HEC means perseverance. Hospitality is a detail oriented industry that focuses on taking care of guests and creating positive experiences, even when it is difficult. She is inspired by the perseverance of her fellow HEC peers to overcome obstacles in the pursuit of ensuring guests receive the best care and experience, she can't wait to see HEC in action again.
Nora strives to create a space where her team feels empowered to make decisions and invigorated with creativity, a space where her team shares their passion and creative solutions. She desires for her department to truly understand the key elements of service and grow their skills in problem solving. She also wants her team to learn to rely on each other throughout the year and to create a community of support and willingness to help. During HEC weekend, she expects an immense amount of bonding between AD's and managers, stress and service create unbreakable bonds! Most importantly, she expects and can't wait to see all of her team step into their leadership roles, show off their years long work, and shine throughout the weekend and during their function!
