Billy Youstra is a senior in the Hotel School. He was born and raised in Portola Valley, California. His lifelong passion for serving others led him to the Hotel School at Cornell. Billy’s interests in the hospitality sector have only grown during his college experience. He is interested in every educational aspect of the Hotel School, from food and beverage to real estate.

Billy is the People & Culture Director for HEC 98. He was a member of the bar team during HEC 95, a Food and Beverage Assistant Director during HEC 96, and a Guest Amenity Assistant Director during HEC 97. He is incredibly excited to establish and create an inclusive culture for all the students participating in this year’s HEC.

Outside of HEC, Billy works as a Front-Office Supervisor at The Statler Hotel, is the Director of Events for the Food and Beverage Society at Cornell, and participates in the Cornell Boxing Club. In his free time, you can probably find Billy spending time with friends, debating the best place to get a burger in Ithaca, or insisting that La La Land’s ending is extraordinarily underrated and should be appreciated in the same way that Up’s beginning is appreciated.
