Max Wadhwa is a junior in the Hotel School, from Chicago, Illinois. His interest in hospitality started at Basu, a modern Vietnamese restaurant and coffee bar, where he worked his way up to Front of House Manager from barista. He also competed in culinary competitions and DECA hospitality events for Glenbrook North Highschool. Now he's pursuing a career in hotel asset management, combining his interest in hospitality with real estate. 

In addition to HEC, Max is the Real Estate General Manager for Student Agencies, President of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association, and Vice President of the Cornell Research Union. This past summer, he interned at SLR Capital Partners in Capital Formation, and before that worked in Operations Management at Highgate in New York City. Outside of work, he loves ranking restaurants on Beli, going to concerts, and playing pickleball.

Last year was Max's first year in HEC, where he served as People & Culture Assistant Director. For Max, HEC is where everything he loves about hospitality and the Hotel School comes together. A chance to turn ideas into a real event built by students, for guests. He can't wait to help bring HEC 102 to life.

People & Culture is the heart of HEC; the team that makes sure every member and volunteer feels welcomed and valued. Students learn how strong hospitality starts from the inside out, building the recognition, communication, and culture that hold the event together. During HEC weekend, expect a people-first environment, plenty of energy, and the small moments that turn a conference into a community.
