Working under the tutelage of Michelin Star chefs, Jessamine McLellan didn’t have the same trajectory as many standout, well-regarded spirits authorities. Honing her talents in the fine dining world, Jessamine excelled working as part of a team - always striving to deliver the most exceptional guest experience. Like a perfectly-mixed drink, that five-star, fine dining experience set her on a course for a leadership role that sees her combining hospitality, love of learning and cocktail know how. Prior to joining Campari America, Jessamine stood out among her peers as a leading national brand ambassador and a creator of top-notch beverage programs.
Today, in her role as the Campari Academy Lead, Jessamine McLellan strives to create a stimulating education curriculum that ‘levels up’ Campari America’s internal team and the spirits industry at large. Her curriculum ranges from simple cocktail tutorials and technique courses to deep, comprehensive dives into spirit category education – offering a truly immersive experience for guest bartenders and industry professionals. Established in early 2019 as an educational epi-center for spirits industry professionals, Campari Academy is geared toward hands-on learning for bartenders and partners.
McLellan brings a decade of bartending, beverage management and brand ambassador experience along with a deep passion for continuing education. Uniquely qualified for the role, Jessamine is an award-winning bartender, has earned a level two certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, a certificate in distilling from the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD), and the “Bar Ready” distinction from the Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR®). She received the Icons of Whiskey award from Whisky Magazine in 2019.
