Ishan Patel
Ishan Patel is a rising junior in the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His interest in hospitality was inspired by his grandfather, whose values and appreciation for service sparked Ishan's passion for the industry at a young age. What began as an admiration for the experiences hospitality creates has grown into a deep interest in the field and its ability to bring people together. Through his studies and experiences, he has continued to explore the many facets of hospitality while pursuing his long-term goal of building a meaningful career in the industry.
Outside the classroom, Ishan is actively involved with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) and Big Red Raas. Professionally, he has gained experience through internships in commercial real estate, hospitality development, hotel operations, and hospitality investments. In his free time, he enjoys following the Oklahoma City Thunder, golfing, skiing, and exploring new destinations.
Ishan's HEC journey began as a Programs Manager for HEC 100 before serving as a Senior Sales Manager for HEC 101. Through these experiences, he developed a deep appreciation for the relationships, teamwork, and leadership opportunities that make HEC such a transformative experience. As Sales Director for HEC 102, he is excited to help strengthen industry partnerships, expand attendee engagement, and create meaningful opportunities for students and professionals to connect.
The Sales Department is built on relationships, initiative, and a shared passion for hospitality. Members will have the opportunity to develop professional communication skills, build connections with industry leaders, and contribute directly to the success of the conference. Throughout the year and during conference weekend, the department will focus on creating value for attendees while fostering a collaborative, energetic culture that reflects the spirit of HEC.
