Vegas Chiddick
Vegas Chiddick is a junior at the Nolan School of Hotel Administration, specializing in Finance and pursuing minors in Policy Analysis Management, and Film. Vegas is from the Bronx, New York, where he has lived his entire life. Studying film in high school, Vegas realized his passion for the art form came from a love of helping and connecting with others. With dreams of developing a production studio, Vegas was attracted to a business-related degree that had the interests of people at its core. Since then, Vegas has come to love the expansive nature of the hospitality industry and aims to pursue a career where he can use his education and experience to promote equity in the industry and beyond.
HEC 101 marks Vegas' third year in HEC. Previously, he worked as a Food and Beverage Service Manager in HEC 99 and as a Food and Beverage Assistant Director in HEC 100. As the Food and Beverage Service Director, Vegas looks forward to helping his team grow and develop as leaders while working alongside them to deliver stellar service during HEC 101.
Outside of HEC, Vegas serves as the co-president of BlackGen Capital Cornell and co-president of the Mosaic Hospitality Association's Cornell Chapter, organizations committed to expanding access for underrepresented students to enter the financial services and hospitality industries, respectively. He is an active member in other organizations including ALPFA, the Nolan School Ambassadors, and HSMP. Formerly a team coordinator and bartender in the Statler Hotel's Meetings and Events department, Vegas is excited to continue building his knowledge in hospitality, now entering the Sales Department through the Hotel Leadership Development Program. In his time off, Vegas enjoys biking, watching movies, and exploring new places with friends and family.
