Evelyn Wu
Evelyn Wu is a junior in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration pursuing a concentration in Food and Beverage Management. From Orange County, California, she began her culinary journey from the start of high school, receiving specialized chef training alongside regular schoolwork. Since then, her spark for culinary arts and hospitality has ignited into a flame, fueled by her ambition to learn as much as she can and the fulfillment she feels from running successful foodservice operations.
Evelyn has participated in HEC since her freshman year, serving as a Culinary Function Manager for HEC 99, where she was in charge of the Julia Child-themed Saturday Lunch. In the historic HEC 100, she was one of the Chef Tournants, becoming a flexible figure for the team and ready to jump in and support any part of the operation. Evelyn is grateful and excited to carry on the strong legacy of the past Culinary teams and discover the path ahead of the organization as the Executive Chef of HEC 101.
Outside of HEC, Evelyn is involved in the Hotel Leadership Development Program as a Student Housekeeping Manager at The Statler Hotel. She loves to work new experiences and discover different perspectives, and her position at the hotel provides the perfect outlet for her to do so. Additionally, she serves as a course assistant for Establishment, where she has found a passion in teaching students how to run a kitchen and supporting the different teams to make their management nights a truly special experience. In the summers, she continues her pursuit of trying new experiences, having done an operational rotation at a large convention hotel and most recently taking on the role of a pool food and beverage supervisor at a beachfront resort in Huntington Beach, California.
