Tara McWilliams
Tara McWilliams is a junior at the Hotel School from Long Island, NY. She is minoring in Applied Economics, and finds interest in the finance and food and beverage industries. Through owning a small baking business since she was 13, Tara has held a strong connection to the hospitality industry for years, and aims to learn more about the behind the scenes logistics and financing that help facilitate a successful operation.
Tara has been involved with HEC since freshman year. Starting as a Pastry Function Manager on the HEC 97 Culinary Team, Tara wrote recipes, ordered ingredients with specific protocols, and executed the baked goods. Her passion towards the procurement side of logistics led her to become a Finance and Procurement Manager for HEC 98. In this role, Tara participated in ordering and receiving processes, along with overseeing the HEC budget and the factors that affect it. She is excited to use past skills and gain more knowledge in her role as the HEC 99 Finance and Procurement Director.
Outside of HEC, Tara serves as a Hotel School Mentor, a Course Assistant for HADM 1361, and is Captain of the Cornell Women’s Rugby Team. In her free time, Tara enjoys lifting, hiking, watersports, and trying new coffee shops.
