Managing Director

Sarah Newcomb

Sarah Newcomb is a senior from Waikoloa, Hawaii, studying Hotel Administration with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, and Real Estate, and a minor in Real Estate. Her passion for service was sparked in high school when Sarah started a non profit organization during the pandemic. Sarah also established a love for cooking and baking at a young age, growing up experimenting in the kitchen with her parents which led her to work in the restaurant industry for over three years. This summer she worked at Ohana Real Estate Investors as an Asset Management Intern, and upon graduation, Sarah is hoping to continue working in the Asset management field.

HEC has been the most impactful community Sarah has been involved with during her Cornell career. She started out her HEC career in the Culinary department as an Assistant Function Manager for HEC 97. She served as the Assistant Director of the Food and Beverage Department for HEC 98, and then went on to become the Food and Beverage Director for HEC 99. This year, Sarah is thrilled to serve as the Managing Director in its centennial year. She sees HEC as the hotel school's greatest tradition, and is so excited to continue the innovation of this conference by fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for students working in the conference, and guests attending HEC.

Outside of HEC, Sarah is involved in many organizations centered around mentorship and helping the community around her. She is involved in the Professional Development of Women Club, Hotel Student Mentorship Program, and A Seat at the Table (a business ethics consulting club). She has also been an Residential Advisor for freshman Cornell Students, and serves on the Residential Advisor Council. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors, strolling through the Ithaca Farmers Market, reading, skiing, and spending time at the beach!
