Executive Chef

Sam Otto

Sam Otto is a junior in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration from Silverthorne, Colorado. Sam’s passion for hospitality stems from his love of the food and beverage industry. He loves how food can bring people together to form a community, and how food is the universal language that helps create connections with people from all over the world. His first introduction to the F&B world was through his catering company, where he would cater for many different types of events.

Sam has two years of experience within the HEC Culinary Department; he was the Executive Sous Chef for HEC 98, and a Function Manager for HEC 97. This year, Sam is excited to share his culinary passion and experience with his team to help them reach  their fullest potential.

Outside of HEC, Sam is a Course Assistant for ESTB. He also works with a few other hotelies on a pop-up restaurant called In Good Company, which features small tasting menu dinners on the weekends. Sam is on the Club Water Polo Team, is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and is a part of the Food & Beverage Society. He also enjoys the outdoors and going hiking, skiing, and fishing.
