F&B Service Director

Andrew Zhang

Andrew Zhang is a junior in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration minoring in Applied Economics and Policy Analysis and Management. Originally from central Virginia, Andrew lived in Shanghai, China for the past ten years before attending Cornell. At a young age, Andrew was drawn to the hospitality industry’s detail-oriented nature in crafting the perfect guest experiences; he has chosen to devote his career toward cultivating this sort of thoughtful diligence.

Andrew returns to Hotel Ezra Cornell this year having served as a Guest Amenity Manager for HEC 97 and a Food and Beverage Service Assistant Director for HEC 98. He is excited to lead a group of passionate students and support their growth journeys as both competent leaders and teammates, all while in pursuit of making HEC 99 “The Best Ever.”

Outside of HEC, Andrew has a variety of operations experiences that form the foundation of his industry knowledge, working as a waiter at an upscale Italian restaurant in Shanghai, a front desk agent at the W Seattle, as well as a bartender and team coordinator for the Meetings & Events Department at The Statler Hotel as part of the Hotel Leadership Development Program. Andrew is also an Associate at Cornell Consulting Club, where he serves client corporations on crafting strategies to tackle their key goals and obstacles. He intends to pursue a role somewhere along the intersection of hospitality and consulting, where he can apply his passion for customer-centricity to make high-level business decisions.
