Andrew Zhang
Andrew Zhang is a senior at the Nolan School of Hotel Administration minoring in Applied Economics and Policy Analysis and Management. Originally from Glen Allen, Virginia, Andrew has lived in Shanghai, China for the past thirteen years. At a young age, Andrew was drawn to the hospitality industry's meticulous focus on details in creating the perfect guest experiences; he's chosen to devote his career toward cultivating this sort of thoughtful diligence.
Andrew returns to Hotel Ezra Cornell this year having served as a Guest Amenity Manager for HEC 97, a Food and Beverage Service Assistant Director for HEC 98, and the Food & Beverage Service Director for HEC 99. He is excited to lead a group of passionate students and support their growth journeys as both competent leaders and teammates, all while in pursuit of making HEC 100 "The Best Ever."
Outside of HEC, Andrew has held various operations roles that form the foundation to his industry knowledge, working as a waiter at an upscale Italian restaurant in Shanghai, a front desk agent at the W Seattle, as well as a bartender and team coordinator in Meetings & Events at The Statler Hotel as part of the Hotel Leadership Development Program. Andrew is also a Project Director and the Vice President of Membership at Cornell Consulting Club, where he serves client corporations on crafting strategies to tackle obstacles and drive change. He intends to pursue a role somewhere in the crossroads of hospitality and consulting, where he can apply his passion for customer centricity to a diverse array of industries. This summer, Andrew is interning at Bain & Company in Washington D.C. as an Associate Consultant Intern.
